Topic: 5 Tips on Surviving the Economic Recession from the Scriptures

#1. Men with Divine Direction Lead

Recession (Famine) is not a new invention, it happened in the bible, and some bible characters took certain steps to become “FAMINE-PROOF”. You too can become “RECESSION-PROOF”

1 Kings 17: 1-6

1.      Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.“

2.      Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah:

3.      "Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan.

4.      You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.“

5.      So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.

6.      The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

Our Heavenly Father continues to communicate with us through revelation. These revelations are communications of divine directions. They may come to us personally or through the voice of the Lord's chosen servants, the prophets, seers, and revelators.

Important Facts

·         Don’t just start that business or make that investment beacuse Mr A or B is doing it. You need to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

·         Assumung you have a friend in United States to send you money, he will send it to you in US-DOLLARS. Then it is your duty to convert it to the currency used in your country. Similarly, when you ask God for money, he will send it to you in the form of “WORD” . (Vs 2, The Word of the Lord came to ...). It is your ability to convert that “WORD” into value that generates currency in your neighbourhood. (John 1:14  The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood.MSG)

·         It does not matter how long you have toiled, the moment you receive the WORD and MOVE, your story changes.

Luke 5: 4  When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper and let down your nets and you will catch a lot of fish!”

⁵ “Sir,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, we’ll try again.”

⁶ And this time their nets were so full that they began to tear!

ACTION POINTS

1.      Attend that workshop on financial empowerment, read that book about money, listen to that tape, spend quailty time meditating with the Holy Spirit.

2.      Seek Counsel from a Mentor.

3.      Step out in faith and exercise the WORD you receive.
